    injection issue

    what's cookin' gentleman?
anywho...this morning i was preparing for my daily injection. all went fine from the get-go: loading the syringe, aspiration & smooth injection. as i was withdrawing the needle from my quad, i'm always on the lookout for blood, gear seeping out of the injection site, etc...all for precautionary reasons & to satisfy my obsessive compulsivness.
as i pulled the needle out of my quad...a stream of blood resembling a shot from a water gun, came shooting out...onto the floor, shower rug & even my shower curtain. i nearly jones'd out just from the site of blood spritzing from my leg. don't get me wrong...i've had blood come out of the sites before..but nothing to this magnitude. i covered it up quickly with a few swabs & massaged for about two minutes. the bleeing stopped, but now i have a very tender feeling in the area of injection approximately the circumference of baseball.
i'm certain i knicked a vein on the way in/out, but should i pose any type of concern? infection? i showered immediately after & cleaned the area thoroughly both pre & post injection.

Yes, sounds like you did either pass through a vein or nicked one on the way in or out. You will live!!

well, it's been approximately 15 hours since i encountered this issue & i have noticed a substantial gain in pain & hardness around the area. i also took notice of about 4 different m&m sized bruises around my leg in the same area. to top it off, a few of veins in the area that can be seen through my pasty white skin have also hightened in color.

    should this be a concern?

When you recover how are you going to approach injecting into that quad again?

I can help here (I'm in medicine)
First of all you didn't likely hit a vein as there is very little blood pressure in veins at all (thats why veins have valves in them and it's also how perfussion from tissues occurs) therefore unlikely to cause the squirting.
Arterial-type vessels are much more likely here and that really concerns me because arteries will run alongside nerve routes so it would be a very close call in not hitting one.
Overall however, due to the bruising I would say that you caused a soft tissue injury of some sort. Bruising is definate here while not usually present in deep cuts that cause bleeding. The squirting could be because of the muscle tension. I really think thats what this is, soft tissue injury. Ice it to reduce swelling untill gone.
I would like to know what spot you injected into in the quad.

LOL this first time i did hit a vein it looked like i killed some one in my bath room.

This is what you did. You went throw a vein that is not a big deal. But i also find if my gear is cold and thick and i inject it it will shoot back out. I find that the times this has happend it was hard to inject also.
