    combating ephedrine sides.

    someone told me to eat lots of potassium ( bananas) when on ephedrine. anyone know why? or any other things u should watch for besides drink lots of water.

    Potassium and sodium are two electrolytes that determine how water is distributed in your body. The most important thing is to keep it in balance so there is never too much water inside the cells or too much outside the cells. So havint too much of one or too little of the other can cause problems with water retention, muscle cramps etc. So to alleviate these somtimes you will need to increase your potassium intake. Usually there is more potassium than sodium INSIDE your cells and more sodium than potassium OUTSIDE your cells. So with not enough potassium you are gonna be retaining water more than likely because your sodium is higher.

    So anyways I would suggest just getting a simple potassium supplement if you want. Banana's oddly enough dont really contain a hell of a lot of potassium. In fact one glass of pure orange juice contains more.
