    Question Prepaid VISA ?

    So whats up with these new prepaid visas I'm seeing on TV here lately?
    Has anybody ever used one?
    Do they require a ID to purchase or add funds??
    This could be good or no?

    is this an american thing, cos it sounds like a good idea to me. unless you have to provide id and stuff.

    it's like a giftcard....just has a visa logo on it so you can use it anywhere. you don't need an ID to use it

    yep.. think of it as money on an electronic card..

    wait.. that's what it is..

    so if you wanted to purchase, or program $50 on a card, just use cash for the purchase..

    I've gotten a couple of these for gifts and even got one sent to me from Cingular Wireless for $50 to thank me for filling out a survey. Pretty cool if you ask me. I carry minimal cash and I like having alternatives to spending.

    it's actually useful if you don't want a bill coming with anything bad on it so the spouse doesnt see.
