u know guys..its easy to prove a point based on statistics given u manipulate the statistics. these "random" questions may or may not have been prepared and applied to a certain demographic to prove whatever point the reporter is trying to make. i for one always look @ these "shows" with doubt.

I do believe rick mercer did much the same, went all over the States and asked the locals very obvious questions and they botched em. like canada just getting AM radio, and the capital has an ice replica of the white house... was rather funny.
im sure not all americans are this foolish, its more likely been cut and edited to make it look this way... but still, even if 10% of the people screw these questions up, thats gotta say something

I, myself have a horrible time with political and geographic questions....getting better, but I am not a young man. I just never gave a rats' ass about who runs what and were they reside. I call that ignorance more than stupidity. Alot of Americans, in my opinion, have what they want and would rather not get in everyone elses business. Most other countries tend to emulate western trends and culture and find far too much interest in this country. I work with many foreign people from all around and they constantly bad-mouth the states, it is really sad to be honest. I might add that the morons here have built quite a foundation in the little over 200 years of growth....not bad.

whether they edited out smart people or not, the fact is that THIS MANY people ARE stupid! It's unbelievable! Take the ASVAB test for the military. I score a 96/99 no problem - even knowing nothing about mechanics or electronics. The minimum score to get into the Army is like a 31.... i've met 3 ppl recently who took the ASVAB and the one with the highest score got a 66. I CANNOT believe how stupid people can be. I'm beginning to think that Intelligence is truly a geneticaly inherited trait.
