they're still expensive in the UK![]()
Naa, I've gotten PMs asking for discounts on the PS3 so I'm just giving out a heads up.

if there was no such thing as duty, i would buy one.
is there some sort of catch why are they giving them away for so cheap?Originally Posted by Carlos_E
The 20 gig normally is $499. Sony discontinued the model so stores are clearing them out.Originally Posted by Doc.Sust

wow I wonder why...is there really an advantage to get the other model? (too bad we dont have Sam clubs up here)
Good thing my roomate has one =) I just saved $350 w000t
The 60 gig includes a bigger HD, wireless and media card readers. It was selling 9-1 compared to the 20 gig model so Sony dropped the 20 gig.Originally Posted by SVTMuscle
The hard drive in the PS3 is user upgradable and uses a standard laptop hard drive. So if you get the 20 gig you can always put in a bigger HD later. If wireless is not an issue it's a good buy at $380.

Do you know if its that price at ALL the Sams Club's, or just certain ones? They were seeling the XboX HD Player for like $120 a while back, but it was only select stores, as are a lot of their other offers......
I'm not sure.Originally Posted by JDawg1536

what does the media card reader do and can you install it after market in the 20 gig?
The media card reader is for viewing or copying files to your PS3. You can pull the card from your digital camera and pop it into the PS3. Honestly, I've done this maybe once or twice??? It's easier to install software on your computer and copy the files over through your network.Originally Posted by Doc.Sust
The PS3 uses a standard 2.5" SATA laptop hard drive. It's easy to install and Sony includes instructions in the manual. Upgrading the HD does not void your warranty. A 160 gig drive would run you $100.

So its essentially $350 for a blueray player? worth it to me!
