to tell you the truth im lost,
i always wanted this lic, but now since i have it dont know where to start
i run my own crew now, 4 guys and me, i like to do full bathrooms from granite to valves, pans, vanities, marble, stone, i do beyond great work, im puking out my ears work, i was going to open a store with 1 of my brothers but he put it on hold cause we didnt have the buildout cost yet, just still feeling out my opitions, i do almost everything but dont really say that cause dont want to be labeled as a handyman, but my marble / stone installs are unmatched
that's really artwork when it's done properly.
My father in law re did his house last year and used cultured marble for the door trim and base boards in the bathrooms. Really popped nicely. Had some reall intricate work on a backsplash and the showers. Truly one of the most awesome work I have ever seen. All joins were PERFECT.
it is, what suks is evertime we do a store or lobby or what ever the customers always tell me the can tell where i tiled and my guys did, my guys are flawless but my floors/walls look like a computer put it in

you're on the right track for sure. my dad was a gc and never, ever had to advertise for work. the work speaks for itself and brings more work.
see people tell me not to do the store cause i cant even handle the work in front of me
but i feel like ill get that pick and choose work, i do put ads in the city paper if i only have like a months of work in front of me or dont care for the bids i gave,
shit right now i have over 2,ooo sqft of stone sitting at my distributor cause i cant get time to install the fuking floor, thats like 10k in labor thats eating me a new a--hole, lol
i've done tile for over 5 years...but right now i'm currently not working because theres no work...

Used to be a General Contractor, but since this year I'm lining myself up as a painting specialist, make just as much, but just far less headaches. Also contracts don't last as long, but they are much easier to find.
15 + years in the stucco and stone trade but got out of it '07. Currently looking for small side jobs to supplement my income.
