    Venison

Any thoughts on venison for a source of protein? I got lucky and happened to get a doe, have 30lbs of ground, and various other cuts like steak, chops, loin, etc.

Man Deer is some of the best lean protein an athlete could ever wish for. Its very healthy and very lean. I put about 5-6 in the freezer each year. It saves me a fortune in food and you cant buy that kind of food at the store. Get one of those Jerky shooter guns and make some using that ground meat. Just watch your sodium in the seasoning.

Anyone else thinking about using wild game please do As long as you don't spend a bunch on hunting gear and land leases its free food.

One avg. sized Doe will yield 30-40lbs of ground meat and 15-20lbs of various other steaks and roasts!!

i assume you mean venison? i dont think so. pretty sure its illegal in the US to sell venison. im sure you can order farm-raised venison at restaurants.

i just got done cutting up a 70 lb. doe I shot this past Saturday. my wife who is the pickiest goddamn person in the world loves it. i dont grind mine up tho. much rather have steaks, chops, tendorloins (the best part) and I make an awesome venison stew. when I met my wife 5 yrs. ago she wouldnt eat chicken, fish or meat. i got her eating both now. esp. the venison.
