    New member progress pics.

Just a few pics to kinda introduce my way into different areas of the forum. I posted in the Intro section but just to say again, I am not a bodybuilder, powerlifter, Oly lifter, a sprinter, nor do I play any sport. However I incorporate all of those sports into my lifting programs. I pretty much mostly follow Christian Thib's training methods as far ramping, CNS activation, adjusting loads and volume used (auto-regulation), etc. Also I use some of John Broz's methods in terms of lifting frequency. I am the same weight in all of the pics, 170lbs.

Good progress. Keep it natural and clean. Profile says 24 but looking at the bedroom wall I'm guessing 17. Still keep up the good work.

Let me clear some stuff up. This is after 3 months after getting back to lifting, I pretty much rebounded back to where I was before I joined the military and have made a bit of progress. I look a lot better than I did when I was 170 2.5 years ago. (I look like a bigger/leaner 170lbs, arms are slightly bigger and shoulders are rounder, traps show through on my shirts, hamstrings and glutes look better too, quads haven't really changed much in fact they look possibly smaller, chest hasn't changed much either). I lifted for 3.5 years prior to joining the military. I did an all out bulk going from 133 to 207 for 2.5 years (wrong thing to do), then slimmed down to about 175. I went into the army, and for the past 2.5 years have been doing shitty organized PT and for weeks/months at a time was eating just horribly. Actually during 2010 I was completely unable to train for 5 months and lived on MRE's. So now, training is all on me. Also I had 30 days off and just treated those days like I was preparing for a competition. Super focused, trained really smart, diet was ridiculously clean/detailed/timed. My job right now has changed too, allowing me lots of freedom and is fairly stress free. I get to lift twice a day, and in the evening I get to work on a house I just bought (lots of GPP going on in there, lifting and moving wood, tile, carpet, furniture)

I am 24. That is my brother's room. He has moved out and I was living in his room at my parents house while I was closing on the house I bought, since I was not going to go stay in the barracks. I am trying to hold this weight right now and continue to recomp while trying to get as strong as I can at 170lbs.

Thanks man. Muscle memory is playing a role in my gains, as well as having off 30 days of work to devote 100% to lifting and eating right. Some lifestyle changes have helped out a lot too (haven't drank any alcohol this year, and have only been up past midnight once this year).

    I am 5'10".

Yeah muscle memory is great. I had to take 3 months off, no lifting due to an eye injury, detached retina. It sucked but it only took a couple months to get back to where I was more or less. As long as you dont try to do to much to fast expecting everything at once it will come. Make it a lifestyle with eating good and training and it does not seem like work. It will just be part of who you are and much easier.

Since you will have your own place time to learn how to cook. Stock up on the chicken, fish and lots of rice. Buy a rice cooker, you will need one. Eating right you can put on some good solid lean mass easily.

Thanks for the advice. A detached retina? That sounds pretty damn serious. I have no clue how that happens. Could you even see with that eye?

Physique wise I have made some progress, strength is still catching up but coming in steady. I was 100+ lbs weaker on all my lifts so it will of course take some time. Best squat at 170 2.5 years ago was 335, and best deadlift was 420 for 2 reps. Two weeks ago my best lifts have been 275 for 5 on squat and 365 for 5 on deadlift. Upper body pressing is kinda weak. So far I my best is a 190lbs close grip bench for 3 reps, and 170lbs push press for 3.

You can bet I am already in the kitchen man. Got the next three days meals cooked, put into tupperware (the cool little ones partitioned like dinner plates), and frozen. Just take them out, go to work, and put them in the microwave and it's eatin' time. Most of my meals are chicken and spinach or steak and broccoli, I snack on almonds. For the most part carbs are around workout times and they come from bananas and sweet potatos. Breakfast is also a carb meal and it is just plain oatmeal with cinnamon and strawberries chopped up in it, with a protein shake. Calories are right at 3200, protein is 260 grams, water intake can get past 2 gallons on weekends and is always at least 1.5 gallons per day. I am not a total newb with bulking up and slimming down, its just now I am trying this body recomp thing and learning what foods in what amounts I can eat to get/stay lean while continuously increasing strength. Trying to keep the scale weight right at 170lbs for now.
