Testim 1% trt gel says that it's 50mg of testosterone per tube. My question is... Does that mean the 50mg test is absorbed into the body?

Depends on how well you absorb it, I Read some where that only 10% gets absorbed could be wrong tho.

Could be that only 10% of the physical gel gets absorbed but that 10% delivers the 50mg, if it says 50mg then that's what it supposed to deliver depending on absorption.

I am pretty sure that "about" 10% gets absorbed on average. You would then take 10% of the 50mgs. as the amount getting to the bloodstream. The process isn't very efficient, or cost effective, but avoids patients having to self-inject, which some patients don't want to do. Some doctors are not all that keen on patient self-injection either. Whenever the gels come off patent, things will get more comparable in terms of cost.

Look at this another way...if you could get 50mgs. into your bloodstream daily...that would be a pretty big dose.

Well I'm on two tubes a day currently. That's 100mg a day but would only be 70mg a week if only 10% is absorbed. Would 70mg a week even do anything?

The two tubes a day that I'm currently taking keeps my levels up nicely.

The 2 tubes of Testim per day seems like it would be roughly equal to a 100mg./week injection of test. cyp., which most think is a good starting point for TRT therapy, so yes...I'd say it is probably doing something for you. If your levels are staying up where you want them to be, you may be good. I assume that cost or transference of gel to others isn't an issue for you?

No its a standard dose. And depending on the person could be too much or too little. Most people I know who are combining other anabolics have test levels above range and combine other compounds.

OK...see where you are going now. Gels won't do it for you, although they can be OK for us older guys who need repla***ent therapy and only need or want to get our levels at the high end of the normal range. We get a benefit at the gym...but probably not enough to do "great" things there.

testim and the original androgel are the same each 1tube or packet applied daily is supposed to yield rougly 5mg NET daily to the user thus yielding 35mg of testerone per week

so you can see double doses are needed to get close to the average injection dose...double gel application yielding 70mg hopefully

comparing to a single injection of testosterone cypionate of 100mg...this injection of 100mg cypionate also yields 70mg of testosterone as 30% of the shot is the ester(cypionate)

2 packets /tubes of gel daily for a week = 1 weekly 100mg shot of testosterone cypionate
