Whos your favorite athlete of all time?

Could be any sport, any point in time. Mine is Larry Scott. Sad he died. He had a phenomenal physique.

Haha I guess not an athlete in the normal sense. Sports figure? That a better word for them?

How can you not call a bb an athlete? What defines an athlete?

I would say Dan Marino would be high on my list. Mike Strange from my home town, an Olympic boxer who does amazing things for children with cancer. He is a true hero and an inspiration to be a better person. He founded the Box Run foundation, he ran west across Canada from where Terry Fox ended his run and battle with cancer. Then a couple years later ran from the east coast back to Niagara, 90 marathons in 90 days, which ended up being 94 in 94 days.

For the most part I'm just messing around and busting the balls of the bodybuilder. Bodybuilders so desperately want to call themselves athletes, even though they do not athletically do anything. Bodybuilding simply fulfills a competitive drive that is in some ways similar to a drive and high that a day-trader might experience. I don't think anyone would call a day-trader an athlete. Competition doesn't make the pursuit athletic, what's done in the competition makes it athletic.

Anyway, to the point of the thread, my favorites:

    John Elway
    Bo Jackson
    Derek Jeter
    Nolan Ryan
Larry Bird and Magic Johnson, named together purposely because of the matchup.

    So many...

    Michael Johnson
    Carl Lewis
    Flo Jo
    Michael Jordan

I'll think of some more and add them to the list...
