What is the best brand of whey protein?

Apparently Optimum Nutrition Whey Protein is rated as the best protein. Can anyone explain why one protein can be better than another brand?
    Isnt all whey the same?

Most whey protein is supplied by just a few companies to the different supplement companies. Basically it boils down to taste and how much extra shit the supplement company put on it.

Any type of isolate. I usually base my decision on price along with the number of grams the scoop holds compared to the number of grams of whey isolate per serving I.e optimum is like 24 grams whey and the scoop holds like 33 grams or something. I mean standard should be at least 75% pure whey ya know.
. I just bought MP combat whey isolate and it has 25 gram per scoop opposed to around 24 grams from optimum nutrition gold standard whey. The ratios were a little lower also.
All that shit with extra stuff like gnc anabolic whey is waste of money. And so is hydrolized whey because of the price. Sure it breaks down and is absored better but there is a debate on if the fast digestion etc is better or worse due to absorbtionnor something.
    Whey isolate period.

Gold standard , cellucor, bpi, dymatize, or animal. If you can afford dymatize iso 100 I'd get that. All isolate no concentrate.

I use SynthePURE whey isolate by Synthetek exclusively. My body absorbs it like a sponge and zero stomach discomfort
    or bloat.

As stated above, the reviews take into account the taste, dissolubility and percentage. Ive tried some brands that would gag a maggot!

Actualy I would buy from online if I could in bulk but I can't now so I just found this at the vitamin shop. It's 30$. And it's hydolized whey and isolate. 25gram per 30gram scoop so it's like 83% pure minus whatever other nutrients ..Attachment 166117

ON is very tasty, excellent company, mixes easy with little froth.
Dymatize is damn delicious, my favorite by far, a bit more pricey, also excellent company, but when mixed it does froth up more than ON. Both of these are my go to choices.

Not all whey is the same, they come in different forms. Hydrolyzed, Isolate, Concentrate.
Stick with the first two, higher purity, easier to digest, faster absorption, etc

Yeah it gets a head on it for sure. But price is 5$ less then the other isolate/concentrate blends for the same amount. and its hydrolized isolate and one of the best percentage of protein grams to scoop grams
Cinnabon taste awesome. I can't stand vanilla ..thismis awesome. I can mix it with my oatmeal and makes it taste real good even

They do have a few flavors that sound good and I'd like to try but I've only had the chocolate.

Just about every company nowadays has a decent chocolate whey and I really don't want to be stuck with 10lb of product that tastes bad.

When I use to by whey from retail stores there were a few times where I didn't read the label and got stuck with ON vanilla for a few weeks and it was difficult to drink even with oats, PB and bananas.

They did offer sample packs for 7.99. I figure I would order some chocolate and then a few samples to try some of the different flavors. I can always choke down chocolate.

I just checked and for 7.99 it looks like they send you random samples of the isolate and blend. Im sure if you email them you could probably pick the sample flavors you're interested in. Thats what im going to do when I finish the protein I have now.

I normally buy BCAA'S in bulk, but they are very hard to cover the taste. So I may try there BCAA'S as well. A couple of there products look solid for the price.

Will do. If I like the taste I'll def order up. Right now I'm paying $60 for a 6lb bag of ON, which really isn't that bad but 10 lbs for $9 bucks more is a deal.

I have been using Rule1 5lbs is like 70 dollars, but 5lbs is 75 servings. So its not bad, and the guys behind Rule1 are the same as the original guys behind ON gold standard. If thr American whey tastes ok twice the price gets me triple the servings with more protein per serving.

If you like Starbucks then I have a treat for you! I'm personally very picky when it comes to protein drinks.. get dymatize elite cafe mocha and then mix it with milk BOOM you've got a delicious protein (it's even got 100mg of caffeine per scoop! It's a great morning protein shake)

Has anyone tried Jim Stoppanis supplement line, JYM? His protein (ProJYM) is very good and now available at GNC, which was only sold exclusively via bodybuilding.com before.

His protein is a blend of whey, egg and casein. He recommends only buying from GNC now as BB is suing him over his contract about branding, rights etc.

I'd post links but don't have those rights yet.

optimum nutrition is good tasting but so is dymatize nutrition, also dymatize is somewhat cheaper than optimum.

I liked trueprotein dot com for a long time, with the custom blends and cost-effectiveness. They use stevia, not asparatame. Now it is truenutrition dot com and I am not sure about their product any more. Might try again in bulk and post up, but other than flavor, texture and solubility not sure how to gauge the quality.

I read that they are involved in a class action law suit, stating mis-labeling regarding protein content. Testing shows that there is only 14.6g protein per 100 grams of powder.

Is this the same company, I think so

Only 12% of what label says regarding protien, so 3g per scoop

I got a 20lb tub after this thread only to see its garbage.

Back to my regular brand muscle feast

Fwiw, I'm violently enraged at the moment
120$ down the drain right around Christmas time, I honestly feel like eating a bullet

The sad thing in this industry is that your brand muscle feast is probably doing the same thing. It looks like I will be sticking with Rule1. I was going to pick up some of the American pure whey, but not now.

Check out Rule1 there protein is great, its a little spendy, but I usually buy the 100% isolate. They also have a whey blend thats a little cheaper.

If you do a little research on protein you will find even some of the biggest brands spike there protein or mis lable it. I only use ON, and Rule1 recently.

I ran across that FDA memo a few weeks ago and agree it is alarming.

From where are you getting those testing result numbers?

The real scary part is no one knows how much of the protein is actually soluble into the human body. I say the best is a slice of NY strip Rare-med rare. But I am biased. Shakes to me for anyone that is not past their genetic threshold is like a woman with short hair. Lazy.
