Slow digesting protein
I have been looking at Casein protein, but find it rather expensive for the low amount of servings. The concept is simple. Slow-digesting protein to feed your muscles overnight. Now let's say, if you consumed regular whey with something like peanut butter, would it bind together and provide the same benefit? If not peanut butter, is there anything that the protein can mend with to become longer digesting? I hate the idea of forcing myself to wake up halfway through my sleep to consume a shake. I always havea hard time getting back to sleep. I don't believe in newb questions. I don't believe in stupid questions either. I was just wondering. I was always afraid of fats until I came to this website. I limited my fats to about 20g a day, and it got me nowhere. I felt like crap in general as well. If this belongs in the diet section, I apologize. Just figured it could go here since I started off with casein

lean red meat and fish oil.
done.

Just take in a whey protein shake before bed. There is enough aminos to keep the Amino Acid Pool (theoretical) reserves high over night.

I have about 2C of ground beef ( 90/10 ) and fish oil. I skip the cottage cheese cause of the sugar and the casein cause of the $$....

As of now, before bed I will take 1 scoop, and have some very light carbs right before bed. I never take more than one scoop at a time anymore. About 9 months ago I was taking 2 scoops before bed, and post workout. I gained too much weight, too fast doing that

I wish I could go higher with protein at night without getting too big. I gain strength like crazy. Recovery is better, and I feel better. Only problem is- I gain fat as well

I try about 3-4 hours before bed and those are minimal carbs, most of my carbs are early in the day

Yeah at night with my nighttime shake I will either eat a half slice of breat, or maybe like 4 tablespoons of oats. If that is keeping me fat then I will definately stop
