I agree for the average and natural trainee these are all true.
Strength is measured during the concentric portion of the lift. Of course putting more emphasis on it will increase strength when that is the standard by which strength is measured.

Yeah, excess amino acids in the body have their nitrogen removed, and if they are not used for energy they are converted to glucose or fat. Most often they are converted to fat instead of glucose.Quote:

i didnt think so either. the 1st one is way off though. they went too extreme with lifting slow being a 5 second up and 10 second return. thats too extreme compared to a 1-1 ration. the 3 second negative 2 second positive hands down does work as you have tought me that!! :DQuote:

It is true that most people do consume too much protein actually.
95% of the people reading those lists are not working out 2-5 hours a day and don't need 2g of protein per lb of body weight. I’m sure most the people reading this board are getting plenty of protein as well from what it sounds. Not everyone is looking to be over 200lbs, people reading for on MSN for work out advice are looking to be “in shape”.
Yes it is true, excess protein is converted to glycogen in your liver and in high doses can be toxic to your kidneys. Protein cannot simply be passed though your body in your urine if it is, you have kidney disease. Your kidney filters out the protein and most of it is able to be reabsorbed in the form of amino acids or glycogen.
