    customs won't arrest you

"FDA Assistant Commissioner Steve Niedelman said the agency does not take any legal action against people who order the drugs, but does tell them that the products are being withheld by Customs. Narcotics, which are not allowed to be sold by mail, are turned over to the Drug Enforcement Administration to be destroyed. "

I might as well add the following caveat before some idiot contributes the obvious:

Of course, they do arrest people on occassion for ridiculous amounts of gear. The point is that going after some guy for a few amps and a couple pills isn't a priorty. This has been observed for some time. Controlled deliveries have been done. However, this link shows that the Customs administration confesses to a policy of not arresting us.

They are turned over to the DEA. The DEA is able to make the decision whether to pursue an arrest. He is just saying customs does not hold any concerns as to the outcome of the recipiant.
The DEA might show up at your door step though.

That's a good point, bermich. Still, it costs alot of money to arrange a bust. It's just not worth it most times.

I know. Just with my luck they would probably need to reach a quota of like 100 drug busts and only have 99. Then they get a seizure from customs with my name on it. Hey lets go meet our quota before lunch.....

Another thing the DEA will do is to call your local department and let them know what they have seized and maybe they want to drop by and talk to you. Depending on where you live some locals can be some real ball busters...... lol

Really? How much money was the seized package(s) worth?
Do they really make a big deal about, say, 400 dollars worth?
