Jack Johnson, Thanks
Come on bro just because someone reired undefeated, Doesnt mean they couldnt be beat, Just that they didnt fight the dudes who coulda beatem.
Dont want that to detract from the record marciano acomplished.
Seeing it typed out black and white is impresive 49-o. Dont come much better than that,Dont come any better than that.
The craziest suggestion I saw in this thread was lenny MC Lean??? The guy was a wanna be gangster. Tougth bare knucker street fighter, Freind of frank warrens(englands don king) But to mention his name as a minute possibilty of the worlds greatest ever fighter reQires hard drugs!!! You must be lol. He never even fought pro

kELVIN SEABROOKS, Bantam weight champ in the 80's,now I say this because one,he trained me and two because he has thrown and landed more punches than anyone recorded his percentage is unbelievable yet very underated he endured bouts with many men twice his size and most of these fights went un-recorded in wba and ibc because he was just looking for $ he would fight in eastern europe and south america just for money bouts, but he was still the champ in ibc and wba regardless of these un-recorded fights, now Ive seen tapes of this dude absolutely eat this colombian dudes lunch in three rounds he hit this dude with so many punches he fell to 98% landed in the third but was at 100% the first two rounds and Kelvin was 110 lbs this colomnbian was about 160! Both boxers werre quick but Im telling you Kelvin was like a **** tornado,he got hit like twice and Larry Holmes said that to this day no one has demonstrtated that old west saloon style of fighting where fighters seemed to bust through the doors in the front beating the hell out of each other and continued right out the back doors and only stopping for dinner. My first training experience with him I felt honered and then I felt sick after 30 minuites, I was 180 him at 116 he said" you O.K champ?" and I just sat thwere throwing up blood and tuna fish sandwich as he packed his bag he asked,"you still want to train?"lol ok all of you disagree with me now! but the hard part is if each are in there prime it is really hard to determine I would default to say Mohammad Ali

The best boxer of all time is this one I had a few years ago named...Princess. Princess was a great puppy who was undefeated in 2 fights with other, sometimes much bigger boxers. She was the champion in her weight class, and often took up challenges with those from the heavyweight division.. (She was a super middleweight herself)
Oh wait you mean...human boxers...Oh ok...Ali..and tonya harding coming in a close second!
LOL

Roy Jones by Far. He has never been tested. He is the fastest and lb for lb the best bar none! Ali was great. His competitors were alot better then anyone roy has had to face. But still every timne yoiu think Jones found a match it is not. I also believe Lennox would also beat Ali in his prime.

lennox lewis is a beeeeeeeoootch and retired b/c he is scared to get beat by roy boy! Tyson was incredible in his prime,un-beatable even, problem is his prime lasted like a couple of short years. Roy Jones is a great boxer and I think many things he has are unbeatable but he needs work on power punches and an orthadox jab. This poll is great, there really is no one that can say who is actually better than anyone else there are so many factors that influence a fighters performance on any given night, technique is only part of it.

04-06-2004, 08:01 AM #54But Tyson has never been a "boxer," he has never had the talent to box his way out of a wet paper sack.
Having said that, Iron Mike obviously had a disappointing career after such a stellar start. When Cus D'amato, his father-in-law/trainer/life mentor passed away, Mike was once again lost, and his performance in the ring suggested as much.
The question at hand is who was the best. And I've given you my answer, and to doubt Tyson in his prime is to laugh in the face of the most powerful puncher boxing has ever known.
Ali comes a close second, especially with his incredible career of ups and downs. He was nothing short of phenomenal as well. But if you put both in the ring at their primes, the hypothetical victory goes to Mike Tyson for several obvious reasons - the most obvious being that he was MORE DEFENSIVELY SKILLED and MORE POWERFUL than Joe Frazier, who gave Ali a world of trouble already.
Mike Tyson is a man of sheer complexity and individuality, and his personality is overflowing with raw humanity. And its funny to me when people joke about how he behaves, talks, ect. because personally I see that as ignorance at its finest.
Footage of Mike's early career isn't hard to find. He was too good and too powerful for his age, and that wasn't his fault. Cus D'amato was the only one who could channel his ability, and for the short period he did that in my opinion it was more than enough to prove that Mike Tyson is undoubtedly the best boxer the modern world has ever known.
Signing off,
King Test

GOT TO AGREE WITH KING ON THIS ONE, Iron Mike was an incredible boxer in his younger years, the person who wrote that he couldnt box his way out of a wet bag is a wet bag himself,I know that he hasnt watched old footage of Mike with Cus as his trainer, bobin weavin knockin mother ****ers out cold he was incredible, he would wait for an opening and take it.......success as a boxer is when training meets opritunity and the man MADE opritunity happen and then someone gets knocked the **** out!!

George Foreman! Speaking of Tyson I would have loved to have seen Foreman and Tyson fight in their primes. They were two hard hitting MF's.

Tyson during his first years , in some of his matches he knocked pros out with 1 punch in round 1 . If you put the old ali versus mike now , mike would beat the crap out of him. Wait till you see the sapp - tyson match , sapp is gonna get the **** beaten out of him .
