The hair folicules are a bit deeper in the scalp than elsewhere, and will be correspondingly more painful to wax. I suppose it could be done, but I wouldn't want it done to me.
As far as Nair goes, that stuff will be rough on your skin, and could scar it if you aren't careful. Skin and hair are made of similar stuff, and as Nair works by dissolving hair, it's gonna do number on the skin as well.

stick to the razor bro....or you can try the warm lather and hot towel old school barber shot method, i think that works pretty well from my own experiences!

get the schick bic with 3 blades, and some women's shaving cream, also it takes awhile for your head to get used to shaving, the first 3 months or so is the worst after that your head will be nice and shiny...

My ex always used the Venus blades on his Mach 3 (Venus are the girly blades) and he never had any ingrown hairs or bumps, etc. Albeit he had been shaving his head for many years.

oh my goodness....bro, DO NOT and i repeat DO NOT go near your scalp with nair or wax. Get a barber to shave your head without using the guard, then shave it yourself with a razor...Mach 3 and shaving Gel have never done me wrong. I would recommend wetting your entire scalp before applying shave gel...use very warm water for this, seems to get a smoother shave i find.

Whenever i get lazy and let my hair grow i shave it with a buzzer with no attachment then razor it. use a razor with minimum of two blades three works best.

I would never wax my head. In the past, when I'd get into a fight and the punk would yank my hair, It would just be painful as hell, and barely any hair would come out, i could only imagine what waxing the whole scalp would feel like!

The headblade is a razor you use to shave your head. I heard from someone who uses it that it works pretty well and makes shaving your head real easy. You can check it out at http://www.headblade.com
