    shaving chest

howdy people. i'm 19, have no acne or anything, but every time i shave my chest i get some little red bumps on it. are all of these ingrown hairs or what? and, if so, how do i stop this from happening? i don't like going with the grain of the hair, kuz then it just doesn't get smooth enough. i shave like every 2 weeks or so. a buddy told me to do it every day & eventually they would stop showing up so, what do y'all say?

just go with the grain. I do it like every 3 days or so in the shower, takes like 30 seconds, and gets it close enough.

    soak blade in rubbing alcohol.

bumps are ingrown hairs or bacteria in the skin.

a clean blade will solve the latter

    goodluck

also, try using an eletric shaver or a WAHL that is used for sideburn trimmings.

never seem to have a problem with those but you wont get it baby smooth

Lather up nice with a bar of soap. For me, I get a closer shave and no bumps or breakouts.

Make sure you let your skin get good and warm in the shower before you start and try pulling the skin a bit tight in the opposite direction that you are shaving and be gentle. New razor's are the best way to go and good shaving cream. You also might want to find a product that helps to reduce regrowth so there's not so much to shave over time.

Make sure you read the directions. I left it on for too long and it burnt the sh*t outta my skin.

I used to use Nair. Got real sick of it and was too time consuming since I'm impatient as hell. But I shave once a week and always go against the grain. Like the others said just make sure you got a real good razor and some good shaving cream. And those little bumps are just razor burn. Its the same as you would get on your face, but the hair isn't as close so it looks a little different. good luck bro.
