Hello, enquiry to senior members, is gear the right choice for me (info inside)...

Hello all. 33 year old male from Canada here.

215 lbs. 6'2. Seriously lifted in my early 20's, now I stay fit and in shape, however there is always room for improvement.

I have a passion in life. Aside from music and photography, I play a LOT of hockey. 3-4 times a week all winter. I consider myself decent, but I am starting to feel the effects of aging in terms of my muscle recovery. I am finding that my legs just cannot recover quick enough after a good skate. In my early days, this wasnt a problem!

I stretch, I do a proper cool up and warm down. I will ride my bike to get rid of as much lactic acid as I can after skating. But still, my recovery isnt what it used to be, and on a back to back skate, I am at about 60% the second day due to sore/tired legs.

I supplement with creatine and protein. I strive for 150 grams of protein per day, and drink a LOT of water. My goal is to be able to recover quicker, and continue to play at a high level throughout the whole season. Im aware after reading MANY threads about those in here who like to discourage newbs from using gear for all the wrong reasons, so right now I am not asking for any tips on dosages and gear to use, but moreso if this is something even worth considering.

I would consider something very low in dosage, to avoid as many issues as possible. I have a friend who competes, so access to most gear is not a problem. I would also consult him for a proper PCT and any other advice.

Anyhow, can anyone chime in here, and tell me if this is soemthing to persue, or if I should re-think my strategy? Id like to do thigns for the right reasons, and do it the right way, but value those with experience over anything.

    Thanks for any advice!

    Welcome,

I'd first consider supplementing with the right doses of amino acids. See how that works for you. Most steroids would be counter productive to what you're doing, as you'll experience muscle pumps that may hinder your skating efforts. Especially since hockey requires sudden bursts of energy from leg muscles.

That being said, low doses of testosterone will help with better recovery, but these benefits only last as long as you're using. So for prolonged benefit, you'd have to stay on. Of course this means that your HPTA system would be shut down and recovery could be cumbersome.

150G of protein is not enough. Try doubling that. For hockey I found Test with winstrol to be incredible.

300G at 215lbs isnt that much. Especially playing hockey that much those legs get worked extremely hard. Even if 300 is too much there is no way 150 is enough.

Thanks. 300 is intense!!! But I suppose I could up that to 200+, but 300 is a LOT for me to ingest. Austinite, in terms of Amino's could you recommend anything in terms of what to try/dosage?!?

After initial research I was looking at something possibly like a low shot of Anavar at 30/40mg a day for a month, and then take a PCT, and see if that gives me any light benefit..

215 is total weight. You feed your fat protein? Does a 215 lb man at 35% BF need 300 grams?

Anavar is one of the worst choices. Shin pumps will cripple your skate.

Get some L-Arginine and L-Citrulline. 3 grams Cit/2 grams arg daily.

No I hear you on that part but I dont know if you played hockey ever but it is a major workout in itself. Playing 4 times per week plus other workouts is a pretty serious amount of working out.

Yeah I'm aware of the game. I agree that 150 might be too low, although without his BF% we won't know. But I am confident that 300mg will throw his BUN/Creatinine ratio off.

I don't believe that anavar - or any steroid - will give you what you are looking over the long term... are you aware that once you discontinue use you will be worse off than when you started due to shutdown and emotional disturbances durring pct, especially without proper diet. Not to mention thjngs like pip which have left me Imobilized on my first cycle...oh the memories of not being able to walk thinking I may have injected some sort of leg destroying substance lol
