    Acetic Acid for IGF 1

I have not been able to find any acetic acid in the UK, except for something called 'Chemspec Acetic acid 5%' - this is generally used as a cleaning agent for upholstery, etc.

Am I right to assume that this is not going to do the job, or is acetic acid...well...acetic acid regardless?

Acetic acid is vinegar, you can get it at your grocery store. You have to dillute it down and filter it though. There are a few threads on here with instructions on how to do it.

I am familiar with the method of creating acetid acid from vinegar - what I would like to know is if the 5% acetic acid (as previously described) would be suitable for the purpuse of reconstituting IGF 1. It will obviously require the same filtration process with a syringe filter as with vinegar, and then it will need to get reconstituted from 850mM to 100mM.

As long as its pure acetic acid at the right concentration and sterile I don't see why it wouldn't be suitable
