shaving chest
I have shaved my chest for about 3 years now. I like how the striations pop more and my wife really likes it shaved as well. I have tried every product listed here, and none have worked as I always get those in-grown hairs. I am down to 2 options it seems: let the hair grow or wax it. I never thought that the day would come that I was thinking of waxing anything, yet here I am. Any suggestions? Is it worth it? How long can I go between waxings? What the hell do pro bodybuilders do about this?

I just got my shoulders, arms & back waxed about a month ago (first time). My back is pretty hairy. I knew it would probably hurt but I didn't know it would be that bad. Getting a tatoo ain't shit compared to waxing! Anyway, my entire back & arms broke out with red bumps, it looked horrible! I wouldn't wear a tank top or sleevless shirt in the gym for over 3 weeks, too embarressed. Still not gone completely & it's been over a month. Hairs are about an 1/8" long now but soft, not stubly like after shaving. I don't think I'll be doing that again. I couldn't enjoy being hair free cause I broke out so bad. Only good thing was the girl that waxed me was tee-totally hot!! It was an experience though, I had to try it. Let us know how it goes if you do it. Later.

dont use Nair, the hair will come back thicker. Waxing is the best option... if you get break outs after waxing it is most likely the oil they use afterwards to remove any residual wax... ask them to clean it up with rubbing alcohol afterwards and/or shower with a back scrubber to remove the oil, this'll prevent any breakouts(different from little red bumps from irritated follicles)

I had my back naired a few times, and each time i got really bad irritation. it's because the back isnt to immune to that skin burning or whatever.
so basically the option is, have a little bit of hair on the back, or have no hair and have your back look like a 14 year old going through uber-puberty

I had my girlfriend wax my stomach one time and when she pulled the wax off the hair was completly gone but so was a layer of skin. That shit hurt bad. So I tried sugaring and used the Nads stuff. It doesnt hurt like waxing and removed just the hair. You might try that, it worked good for me.

my opinion is, waxing is not the answer...shaving or hair removal cream are just as good, had the worst experiences waxing on my chest, drew blood, red bumps etc, lady who did it said "ooooh ... you remember me" in a thai voice.... she was right

My wife makes this sugar and lemon wax stuff that is pretty gentle on the skin and pulls everything out. My skin has been really sensitive to other stuff in the past but her homemade stuff works well. But it still hurts - especially if your hair is really think... it can bleed a bit then.
Normally, I just shave...
