Shoulder Pain, Corticoid Process ?
I was wondering if anyone else here had ever heard of and/or been diagnosed with an inflammation of the "corticoid process". According to my Orthopedic Dr, it is where the Bicep muscle connects into the front deltoid and that all I need to do is "stop lifting" for a while.
The strange thing about it is that it hurts the most when I do back exercises.
Also do u guys think that Ice or Heat would be better? I have been using Ice 15 minutes at a time twice a day as i dont have a heating pad.
Thanks

Dude I got the same thing. Its a biceps tendon injury... Let me guess - you can do presses - shoulder and chest - and even most bicep exercises...
What is restricting is back exercises (pullups, t's, bent overs, etc..) and preacher curls...
Dude mine has been messed up for going on 3 months now...
I dont see it healing itself...
Anyone with some opinions/suggestions????????

I had a similar problem and the doc's could give me a definate diagnosis but i had the exact same pain, not so much with back but it did hurt when i did bent over rows because you are stretching that tendon to reach to get the weight. Anyway i took two weeks off of uper body which freekin killed me and got those icy hot patches. Between using those, ice, and hot tubs i havn't had any more problems and its been two months. Every now and then i will feel a little pain when i go heavy but it subsides almost instantly. I think what i am trying to say is you have to let yourself heal. Good luck Bro!

its coracoid process which is a hook like structure that extend from the anterior side of the scapula, cortico refers to a corticosteroids for inflammation, different word entirely.
I tore my coracoid brachialis along with my pec, still recovering from it but doing much better iam probly at 85-90percent recovered which is a huge difference from not being able to bench the bar without plenty of pain. after 6months of physical therapy and lots of therapy done on my own it started to improve, currently its been about 14months since start of physical therapy.
bottom line is depending on the extent of your injury you should bug your doc to write an order for physical therapy, make sure to ice it after every session and any other time it becomes irritated, also heat therapy pre-workout really helped me alot along with massages done by the therapist (the massages probably did the most good, i had almond size lumps on the outtside of my pec).Last edited by dasher82; 06-30-2008 at 08:42 PM.
