    Lower back injury

Really strained my lower back left hand side from twisting movement while boxing. 5 weeks into test e first cycle. I'm training but only doing seated free weights having to use machines which I hate. Am I best proceeding like this with caution, or stopping completely until it's better which I would hate to do?

I've heard of guys advocating working through the pain. Me personally, if I'm hurt more than just a little, I just stop and let it rest. Recovery time for me is quicker if I just stop and let it heal. My body doesn't seem to heal right if I keep pushing through the pain.

I know what you mean, it just seems a waste while I'm on cycle, if I completely stop I won't get any gains.

When I cycle, I am more injury prone. Musclur strength explodes, tendons/ligament strength lags. Plus I've got a little age on me, which doesn't help matters. I've learned to warm up better/more before hitting the weights, and at the beginning of the cycle for the first couple of weeks, I try to refrain from pushing to the max. I was hurt a year and a half ago, and friggin recovery time took over 4 months. No growth while injured/rehab, and although not optimal, taking it slow like i do i still see gains.

Sounds like the sensible thing to do, suppose with it being my first cycle I was pushing too hard too quick getting too excited that I can now lift heavier, I won't make same mistake twice. Il take it steadier, and definitely spend more time warming up ( I never warm up which I know is stupid), good advice times roman lad !

it is very easy to overdo it on a first cycle. emotionally, you are charged and excited to see max gains. so you push it 110%, beyond the threshholds your connective tissue can handle. one of the reasons connective tissue lags, is they lack much of the blood supply that muscle tissue recieves. so it takes longer for this tissue to respond to aas. Which is another reason why we recommend avoiding aas until a solid natural foundation has been built. with a natural foundation, connective tissue has had the time it needs to grow stronger, which makes you LESS injury prone.

It's all good. Live and learn!
