Substance Abuse Rehab and Juice Diet

What's up guys, I'm a newbie here and I'm not sure if this is the right section for this post so accept my apology in advance if I am posting in the wrong place...

In mid January of this year, I completed a 30 Day substance abuse rehab program and since 12/21/11, I have been completely sober and substance free, including cigarettes. I'm 5'10" and weighed 180lbs prior to rehab but since my abstinence with substances and alcohol, my weight has shot up to 215lbs.

I understand the importance of the proper diet when it comes to weight management but it seems that food has become a substitute for the substances, alcohol, and cigarettes I once used. I exercise moderately, both weights and cardio about 1.5 hours a day 3-4 times a week. The extra weight has taken it's toll on my joints, feet, flexibility, confidence, and overall well being and I have started a Juice cleanse diet two days ago.

My question is to anyone with any similarities or knowledge of what I've posted:
    1) Any caveats and/or recommendations to a cycle I can begin to burn fat fast and ultimately get shredded?
    2) Has anyone ever used a juice diet, along with protein shakes and supplements only?
    3) Any general advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks guys, btw this forum is awesome.

good job on getting clean and sober! and welcome to the forum

    1) i would not suggest a cycle for 3 very important reasons
1-if you diet isnt in check you arent ready to use gear
2-you havent said much about your lifting experience and age, but these may, or may not, be a reason for you to not cycle.
3-you have just gotten clean for substance abuse, and you know want to try new drugs that you may potentially become addicted to? I think that is something you should keep in mind.

    2) i dont think a juice diet is good. Juice is 95%+ sugar, if you want to cut you should have no sugar except a few select veggies. Go to the diet forum and read the stickies and post a possible diet. You will get some good help on that.

3)First diet is most important, you must make a porper diet if you wish to get lean. Followed by cardio, then work on a possible training routine.

    Goodluck!

    Good advise

And in bold is rehab 101, one of the first things they tell you and reason they say not to gamble

You jump from one addiction to another,

Steroids arent addictive, but you could build a mental addiction/obcession which will fvck your head up just as bad as any drug, its not the steroids doing it, its you not being ready

Not to mention how easy it is to justify taking a few valium or df's on cycle to help sleep or with any pain

Wait until you are 1 year clean, then consider a cycle

For now just focus on your diet and training, you will make good gains from that alone, AAS arent needed, your trying to run before you can walk

Thanks everyone, I appreciate the advice especially knowing it's sincere. It's what I needed to hear and will stick around to learn in the meantime.
