serious DOMS or something more serious???

on the saturday i trained legs, was an awesome workout was feeling really sore afterwards (In a good way)
Woke up sunday morning was very sore, felt great, no sharp pains or anything not normal, just general muscle soreness
On the monday, hamstrings feel ridiculously sore and is almost twice as sore as sunday :S
Coming down the stairs i went to skip a step for some stupid reason, sharp pain shot up my hamstring and felt like someone placed a tennis ball in my leg..
needed someone to carry me down the stairs and can barely move it now :S walking with a massive limp and have never felt this feeling before..

What i dont get is that if i injured my hamstring on my saturday workout, i would've felt it straight away
as the day's go on i seem to be getting more sore and i havent done anything except rest

someone please voice their opinion on what this could be or an explanation

My legs use to be seriously sore for up to 7days when I first started working them hard! I was the same, and thought I had injured my hammys every time I worked out, but it's alright, if you aren't new to working out your legs, there may be something wrong, I stretch regularly now, especially my hamstrings! Good for your your lower back also

what did you do during this training session? reps and sets

i used to due 5x5 squats to fail and needed about 4 days to recover,
i now do 2x5 not to fail, i do lower body exercises every workout 5-6 times a week no DOMS

i use to train legs very regularly then went through a quite patch
On the saturday hit them very hard since a while
    5 sets of heavy squats
    5 sets of heavy lunges
and a superset of leg extensions and leg curls

Feel a bit better now, i think nothing to worry about, just some bad DOMS
