    Upright rows for side delts?

Anybody here ever use upright rows to build there side delts?

What hits the side delts more a close grip or a wide grip when doing upright rows?

Upright rows IMO are a poor choice for side delts. Laterals are used much more effectively. Upright rows are good trap work.

I have tried wide and narrow and for some reason when i use wide it kills my shoulders(in a bad way) so i dont do them but i have used narrow a bit and i usually do higher reps with moderate weight cause when i go heavy with uprights i feel it directly in my traps and not my delts. So I say just try em both and see what is best for you and go from there...and like agression stated laterals are great for side delts.

I did upright rows when I started lifting but had to quit them cuz my forearms hurt real bad. Now that I have built them up and gained strength I can do them with minimal pain. I also use narrow grip.

Wide grip upright rows are VERY good for hitting your side delts. The narrower the grip, the more traps you involve so make sure to use a wider than shoulder width grip.
