They can, yes. Twice a week is what I'd personally recommend.

SC, what days do you work forearms on, and with what bodyparts? As far as symmetry goes, what should your forearms measurement-wise be compared to. For ex. Calves and arms. Thanks.

I train forearms twice a week. Twice a week grip work. Basically picking up heavy ass dumbells and walking with them if no one is around for as far as I can. Once or twice a week ill do wrist curls..but I dont know how much that really helps with forearm size. Remember the forearms get worked a lot with different exercises...deadlifts, bent over rows..etc.

i dunno if your gym has this...but my gym has a little machine..its like a grip machine
i usually load 1 45 plate on it and just do single arms grips as many as possible...load up for one set of heavy like 2 plates and a 25..bang out ten...it hurts...also u ever seen a 10 pound weight tied around a lil bar...and u hold it in front of u and twist it up and down..it really works ur forarms

A couple times a week is fine. Do some wrist curls and hammer curls.
