my calves are so small in comparison w/ my quads and the rest of my body, what can i do to improve the size of them? and what is just a good overall leg workout for size.. thanks for any advice given

Unfortunately, a lot of it is genetics. I've been fighting the same battle. I've read a lot of workouts out there such as high weight, low reps vs. low weight high reps. I'd switch it up and make sure your doing a variety of excercises. Calves are a pretty dense muscle so you can do them more than once a week. Squats won't hurt either.
what helped my calves a lot was doing standing calves in 3 different positions... 1 with toes forward, 1 with toes pointing out, 1 toes pointing in... then id i go back to toes pointing forward...
i like to go light... say like 150 on the standing calf and go nice and slow all the way up and down to get good stretch on em...4 sets using this toes pointing method till failure
then move to the seated calf and pump out reps with heavier weight. works good for me anyway.
