LOAD up the weight on leg press or a BB(standing calf raises) and do calves until they literally feel like they are going to burn off your leg.
it really does matter how hard you hit them because you use them so often they need a deep punishing to grow...

On an added note I believe that Seated Calf Raises taget the Gastroc muscle, the one you want to get bigger probably. thought i would add that in there...
