Thread: Gatorade???

    Gatorade???

Why am I seeing so many bodybuilders sipping gatorade (or the like) DURING their workout. Hell, if you train hard and are in and out in 1hr or less, why would you need the added SUGAR? Does anyone subscribe to this "during" theory? Also, how comprable are these drinks, mixed with Whey to dextrose. I realize that Dex is the king of all, but for someone who wants less sugar rush, would this suffice?

Right now I use 2 scoops of whey, 1 tb of dex, 1 tb of glutamine, 1 scoop of creatine and 4 rice cakes. Maybe I need more at 6'2, 190? I am lean bulking at 9-10% bf, so dont want too much excess sugar.

I drink gatorade during, and I take pro/dex afterwards.

I like to sip on something aside form water during the workout. I guess theres a placebo in my head about all the added electrolites as well..

Just thinking that this would put the fat burning effect of training to a screaching hault!

Personally I will drink a gatorade during training if im behind in my total calories for the day.

Who says bbs use gatorade, could be crystal light?

I also use gatorade concentrate pwo with my whey, I like lemon lime with chocolate pro, its the same thing Jay Cutler does, except he uses cell tech which is the only reason he's bigger than me.

I have never used anything but gatorade as my carb pwo. I did try vitargo for about 4 weeks but I hate the taste and have heard that it is not worth the money...So,I am staying with Gatorade powder pwo....and yes, orange or fruit punch mixed with chocolate whey powder tastes great.

The bottled gatorade is equivalent or powerade even though dex. isnt listed, right?

some believe that without protein the carbs are used in some kind of digestion energy, i know that might not make much sense, but thats what i was told "that without protein added the negligable amount of carbs will only be used for digestion and not strength" no idea, that's why i said some think...

AGREED....esp. you bro cause you do about 10 sets total and long rests....for someone who trains fast and high rep, it may be a good idea......

yeah but people training at a high speed/frequency will most likely be training for leaness and striations so they are not going to want a sugary drink when they could be utilizing fat for fuel.

now if ur a cross country type of person then yes i could see it.
