Don’t be afraid of cardio you won't loose muscle weight if you limit the frequency and your diet is in check….

I like fast walking just to get my HR up sometimes for a little as 15-20 minuets.

Just remember your not trying to loose fat.

It will do you more good than bad.

Im not a fan of jump rope as it’s a high impact exercise that has coursed shin splints with many ppl iv worked with.

don't be afraid of cardio, giving the most important muscle in your body a workout is very important... just keep it brief (about 20mins) and keep it low-impact (60%MHR)...

Cardio is very important, as you have to take care of your heart. Don't worry about losing the weight you put on because as long as you are taking in more calories than you are burning off, you'll maintain or add weight. Try doing cardio three times a week, for 20-30 minutes on the cross trainer, precor, stair master, recumbent bike, etc., as these machines will give you the amount of calories burned. Also, jumping rope is excellent and at your weight of 175 lbs, if you jumped rope for 20 minutes, you’d burn approximately 266 calories.
