Polar is awsome. If you buy the chest strap, a lot of gyms have cardio machines with built in recievers and will show you your heart rate on the machine

That was the best suprise when I got mine last week.

I bought the Nike c5 - love it - shop around can get it fairly priced under 80.

I use polar - great product and it synchs with most of the equipment in my gym

check out ebay... just picked up a nike one for 40 bucks shipped brand new.... seems to work great.
