    Steam room

At 24 hour where I go for working out, they have a steam room and I was trying to read up on it. The benefits that I've read are it raises your heart rate and cleanses the skin. Has anyone heard of any other benefits?

Because of the increased metabolic rates and the energy required for sweating, up to 300 calories can be expanded in a single sauna session (that's roughly equivalent to running 2-3 miles.)
Unfortunately the heart rate increases when the body is exposed to high temperatures.

there was an article in last months M & F about japan researchers discovering that exposure to heat made the muscles in rats weight alot more over a period of time, rats where exposed to 105 degrees for an hr, so kick it in a sauna for 20mins PWO after your shake and see what happens I guess

nope, not for me. Your sweating out nutrients and water that your body and muscles need for growth and recovery. Only time I'd do it is the last couple weeks before a comp, other than that **** it. It's uncomfortable, time consuming, and usually full of fruity ****ers who just go in there to let their balls hang out in front of other men. I'd rather spend 20 min. doing cardio

i actually find it quite relaxing. to go into the sauna not the steam room. and stretch out my muscles after a good workout. it feels great. some people like the hottub thingy.

my parents have an infarred sauna at their house, now thats got some benefits.
