Who here goes past 90 degrees on incline? Do you touch your chest? Go right at 90? Or a few inches above chest?
I stop at 90 degrees.
I touch my chest.
I go a few inches from my chest but past 90.

Most of the time the bar is an inch or two above my chest and sometimes it touches but never bounces off.
i bring it all the way down until it touches the middle of my chest but never bounce it back up unless i might be doing a couple forced reps and need that little bit of help.
To even make it harder, let it sit on your chest for a couple seconds and then explode up.
Talk about a bitch...

i hurt my shoulder from going past 90degrees constantly, i feel more pressure in my chest and less in my shoulder when i stop at 90 and vice versa when i go all the way down.
I bring it down just so it barely touches the upper chest, almost to the neck to give my my chest the maximum stretch possible and slowly press back up but don't quite lock out at the top.

I tore my shoulder, so I dont go past 90 on any type of bench.

My arms are freakishly long... If I touch the bar to my chest, I pull my AC joint in my shoulders... I physically can't go past 90 degrees.
just a tad past 90 to protect the shoulders
yea that makes your explosion crazy...Originally Posted by muriloninja

touch chest always....get best stretch this way and this is only way my chest does way more work than my shoulders. On my heavy days I will hold it just baely touching my chest for a second or two and then explode it up (ballistic training)....that IS a bitch..lol
