dumbbell flyes put mass on the chest not shouldersOriginally Posted by Spartan13
anyway i have not seen your routine but some good movements are shoulderpresses, nice controlled behind the neck press and standing military presses are nice
I think he meant db shoulder presses which is one of my favorites. I also do my shoulder presses seated at the smith machine. Try front db raises (seated or standing) with strict form. Dont swing the db. My shoulders respond well to these movements.Originally Posted by Ajc330
My .02 on shoulders:
1. Dump any and all anterior (front) delt exercises, these get overworked during chest movements, on the flip side, prioritize rear delts, its very rare to see someone with rear delts that "pop"
2. Always base each workout around some type of pressing movement, there are advantages and disadvantages to each, find what works for you.
3.IMO keep rest periods very short, the delts are a "small" muscle so keep a somewhat hurried pace to increase the intensity and time under tension as well.
4. Have you ever tried somewhat unique exercises such as hang clean or overhead power press, These will deff develop functional strength and provide variety.
5. Mind Muscle Connection and form!!!!!!!
