Wink Training each day of the week

If a muscles takes 48 hours to recover why not train more then.

I got my gym in my basement and i been training this way for 3 weeks now and feel great.

I dont feel any signes of overtraining either.

    Day1 Chest and triceps

I do 9 sets for chest and 4-6 for triceps

    Day 2 back and biceps

I do 9 sets for back and 4-6 for biceps

    Day 3 legs and deltoids

I do 9 sets for legs and 4-6 sets for deltoids

After this either i take a day off or see how my body feels and start the cycle all over again.

I train in the morning and try to do 30 minutes of stationnary bike after my weight training workout.

At night i usually go for a walk or more biking.

I use different reps schemes each time, one day i can shoot for 12 reps and the next workout i will go for 8 reps.

I dont go full intensity but i do get a pertty good muscle pump and i find that my muscles look a lot fuller that way.

I concentrate on doing good forms more then overloading the weight.

I am getting back from a back injury that lastest for over 6 years.

I am not cutting out carbs and not going on a low calorie diet, i am eating 5 times a day but small meals.

Each time i dieted i lost all my muscles and it was even worst when i cut carbs out completely.

Forgot to mention that my total workout time with cardio can be anywhere between 45 minutes to an hour.

I never go behond an hour.

My goal is not to build mass or bigger muscles, i really need to lose bodyfat, right now i am training cause i love to and can actually do it after 6 years layoff and various attempt that failed due to back pain coming back.

I am still testing myself but has my old Kyokushin sensei said the body will adapt, also since i am older 35 i need a lot more exercise to keep the damn weight off.

So the theory of more exercise has you get older is real, i fear the 40 and 50 now LOL

I'm taking 2-3 days off from lifting right now. This week I had Muay Thai AND heavy lifting so my whole body is sore. I'm just swimming. The thing about lifting everyday is that it catches up to you in a week or 2 and you will have to take a few days off because it's so taxing on your body

With the addition of muay thai its quit understandable that you need theses days off, Muay Thai is one great art and i hate my neighborhood for not having any, just lame old karate.

I am not going intense has i said, i am far from heavy lifting unless you consider lat pulldown with 90 pounds heavy.

I am going on week 3 now and i feel great, and since my weight training session is usually less them 30 minutes its all good.

If i was training like i did before with squats and deadlifts, heavy bench press and standing military press, chin ups i would only be able to train 3 times a week.

oh okay I guess I misunderstood you, albeit those 30min are quite intense though, right? For a while I was doing 1 hours workouts 6 days a week and that felt pretty good. I would do chest, back, arms, bis, tris and legs on separate days. I felt like I really needed to hit my arms twice a week though

I really dont know how old you are, but me at 35 and after a 6 year layoff due to back pain, and has i said various failed attempt to come back in training, i need to really push it.

30 minute training is intense i get a great pump and feel the muscle burn, its not like i am just lifting light weights around.

What makes it more intense is the 30 second break between sets, and the 1 minute break between body parts.

I try to be active at least an hour a day each day, either it be doing the Bas Rutten cd on the punching bag, a big of bootcamp Billy Blanks, walking and lots of biking.

Going to work on my bike too is great.

I feel that listening to your body is the best way to go has far has training, i mean when 48 hours have passed and if you dont feel strained and can work the muscle again why not.

I changed my way of thinking after reading Lyle Mcdonald Ulitmate diet 2.0, and the HST training principle.

yes sonar you are 100% correct, nothing is written in stone, you have to listen to your body! unfortunately, our body does not come with a manual but it does give us signs when to take breaks!

When i was younger i witness some pertty sick stuff, i was training in kyokushin karate, this is the toughest karate out there, i am glad to say that age was just a number among many of the students, i am talking about people in there late 40 and 50 doing 100 push ups a day, having some of the most amazing cardio ever, and able to spar for 15 rounds.

They where also hard has rocks. My sensei always said that the body will adapt, no matter how hard to train it, it will adapt.

My sensei at that time was in is early 40, he was quick, weight trained, did some push ups and sit ups everyday and he looked like a million $.

I just added the bas rutten training cd i do boxing 2 minutes rounds with 1 minute rest 7 rounds and Muay Thai cd 2 minutes rounds with 1 minute rest 10 rounds.

I will keep you guys posted on how everything is working, the cds just kicked my ass for sure.

Sometimes I'll lift for 45 min, sometimes up to 2 hours. It depends on my body. Invariably though, if I workout for a shorter time the rest in between sets is much less
