Smile So I decided to switch up my routine (Critique now please)

Well I decided this week to switch up my routine and so far I'm really liking it. I feel like I'm getting better workouts in (could be mental or because I haven't changed routine in a year).

    Mon - Chest, Triceps, Abs
    Tue - Back, Biceps
    Wed - Shoulders, Legs, Abs
    Thurs - Off

    REPEAT

So basically I'm doing 3 days, rest 1 day, 3 days, rest 1 day, etc. How is this split to you guys?

hmmmmmm, I can hear my echo in here!

P.S. Keep in mind before I was doing one body part per day Monday-Friday which basically meant one time per week.

I'm still a strong believer in each body part hit directly once a week...and working out every other day. You can do cardio everyday but give your body a rest. If your intensity is were it needs to be then working out 3-4 times a week is enough....just my two cents.

no good. I like how juicer put it every other day. When you workout your chest you also hit the back muscles secondarily/thirdly so You still may be able to workout your back the next day but you may not be pulling the most you can. You may be able to workout 2 on 1 off split and do legs one day and chest the next...day off...back one day and shoulders the next..day off...arms then legs then chest...day of...and so on.

Whats really funny is how I made this post like 5 times and everybody said the opposite. Everybody told me not to train one body part per day/week and to use this new routine. Now I take the new routine, make a few little changes, and the first 2 people tell me no good.

    Hilarious.

i like it, but i would probably do either 2 on 1 off or 3 on 1 off then 3 on 2 off. might just want to get a couple more rest days in there. depending of course on how many sets you are doing to failure, if doing cardio, and if on the gear. Would be easy to overtrain with that split. not saying you will, but just listen to your body

I think you need to just give it a try and see how it works for you.

So 3 complete rest days between muscles isn't enough for them? I thought that was plenty.

For example if I hit Chest/Triceps on Monday, I won't hit that again until Friday, etc.
