I use to keep an old Marine Duty Log Book for my jounal while I was in Japan. I kept track of every set, how wt I used. Everything I ate, drank, and details about cardio. I was only 21 and when I read it now I laugh my ass off. However, it was the biggest I had ever been (up till that point) no steroids. I had ripped fuel, ultimate orange, a big bottle that just said 'Amino Acids' on it and Myoplex. I thought that I was ballin'
Yes I do
date time
body part
exercise
weight reps sets
how it felt
I also do it with my food and after all that I put it on my computer and make it into a pie chart..
yes, imo if you dont you are robing your self... i can look back and evaluate my growth from any time period... too often, i dont remember the reps or weight i have done in the past... just yesterday while doing flat bench i was putting up 305 lbs my max reps before were 6 and i popped of 7 - when i left i had a great feeling cause i hit a few dif rep maxes...
what i do i copy and paste my last work out on to my black berry and just add and compare the numbers from the last work out... then email it to my self...
Yes i always have done, same as prone, i log everything...
uh yes. 100 percent i do. even down to rest periods and such
lets me know if i need to bump up weight, change times, change training, change anything... ever... period.
and change is what makes you grow
I log everything.
I used to keep extensive logs here... but i since transferred 'em to (and continued 'em at) my forum.
Logging is essential imo.
My log book is my workout partner which keeps me on my toes.
Ex.
I am feeling tired. Go to leg press , i open my book and see what i did last week , say my final working set was 800lbs for 8 reps. I have two options 800lbs for 9reps or 825 for 4-6reps and nothing less !
Like Nark said, its essential.
