    Training back, getting forearm pump

Hey guys, usually when i do back, i notice that i use my forearms quite alot, because they get a ridiculous pump and they get really tight. Lately it's been getting worse because i have been going heavier (on cycle). Normally i do either 12 or 15 sets for back. My question is, if i'm trying to gain mass, aren't i suppose to lift as heavy as i can, even if i have to over-compensate a little with other muscle groups ie. forearms? Or should i go much lighter and really focus on form, making sure i only use my back, and no other muscles?

FYI IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO ISOLATE ONE MUSCLE GROUP.. and depending on your experience/intensity level/exercises i would say 15 sets is too much

If you're getting excessive forearm pump, you might be gripping a little too tight. I think everyone gets some forearm pump doing deads. You just have to hold on tight to keep from dropping the weight. Sometimes if you're concentrating hard on your lifts, you grip the shit out of the weights w/o realizing it. Concentrate on only gripping as tight as you need to to avoid dropping the weight and it should ease up on the forearms. OTOH if it isn't limiting your workout, what's wrong with some forearm pump?

you can always use hooks...... that way your forearms wont interfere with you isolating your lats.... the hooks will be bearing more of the weight for you..

you probably are gripping the bar too hard.
Also you can try different grips.

That's what it is, my grip. I usually grip the bar like a motherf*cker, but only so i don't drop the weight before my back fails.
    Cheers guys
