Alright gentlemen, Ive been a frequent reader of this forum for quite awhile now and I need to get some input on a very stupid question.

Ive been in this game a long time. Was a regional competitor in the late 80's to late 90's. Now that my children have reached High School Im very motivated to get back into competitive shape.

My question simply is this, alot of you "gurus" out there are offering all types of advice to teenagers and novices on your opinions of worthwhile gains. In other words Ive seen several exchanges that read like this " dont just do dbol or anavar by itself you wont gain anything" When you say dont gain anything do you really mean to say you wont gain 20lbs in an 8 week cycle? Cuz im here to tell you that doing just Dbol or just Anavar before a show has yielded me tremendous results. BUT THEN AGAIN, I think tremendous results are a good solid 10lbs of lean mass over an 8 week blast.

Perhaps an answer is quite simply that the gear today isnt as good as the gear years ago.

Any clarification is really appreciated
