    Cardio before breakfast to cut?

Would doing cardio on my off days before I eat anything be a good idea? How long after should I eat? I usually don't eat for and hour or two after cardio to get a benefit from it but I'm not sure how long i'll be able to fend off hunger in the morning. Also should I eat before if i lift in the morning?

people have success with pre breakfast cardio. i would treat it like a normal workout in consideration to post workout nutrition...but with lower caloric intake. after your cardio get your simple carbs and protein, just a smaller amount. since this is an off day for you anyways, you should have a lower caloric intake already.

always eat before weightlifting. just make sure you're not eating beef or anything like that too close to the workout. if you're tight on time in the morning before lifting take in a little protein and some simple carbs.

empty stomach cardio or post workout cardio is one of the biggest debates. and generally it comes down to what is easiest and best for you..

when you wake up your body is already at low levels, so generally speaking it pulls from fat storage's. post workout cardio causes the same effect but by working out with weights its generally accepted that your body is in the same state, though it is also believed that your body might be too drained from the weight training that you could lose muscle.

but to the original rot question, doing cardio when you wake up will help lose weight. but don't wait too long. your body will be really need protein and even carbs. so don't work out hard on an empty stomach and then hold off for hours without eating.

I would NOT do simple carbs after morning cardio if trying to lose weight. Save any simple carbs for after weights. Don't wait too long to eat after morning cardio - you are already catabolic. I eat either oats/eggs/protein powder (carb/pro meal) or eggs/ground beef (pro/fat meal) depending on if i have weights later that day

Agreed - the resultant insulin spike from the simple carbs post cardio would stop fat burning in its tracks.
