    False grip bench?

I switched about 4 years ago and I seem to be much stronger with the false grip nd have never gone back. Thoughts?

It scares me personally, but I have heard stories where guys have switched and it has revived their bench, especially when they have had injuries to the pecs or shoulders. It obviously is working for you.

You should be stronger with a regular grip as it ingages more arm muscles, fast twitch fibers, forearms and triceps aren't being as activated...

I train by myself, false grip...no thanks.

    Whatever works for you.

False grips is obviously more dangerous. But I think it's personal preference. I don't think either have a strength advantage though. I huge benchers I know (800+) say they switched from false grip strictly for safety reasons. But there are several 800+lb benchers who bench with a false grip. To each his own, IMO. I'm a close to 600lb bencher and I use a false grip. Its simply more comfortable. Having extremely large hands makes using a full grip uncomfortable as holding the bar with a full grip feels like holding a pencil.

If you train alone, bench in the squat rack. That's what I do.
