I like to wake up, eat breakfast and then go straight to the gym. I don't see anything wrong with it as long as you eat 45 minutes or so before hand. I usually eat and wait 30 minutes then drink my pre-workout then lift 30 minutes later.

50% of my training is done one hour from sleep, this is due to working shifts and having to get to gym fast before my age and job catches up with me,i get better sessions like this and dont seem to fade as fast and normally get in and out in hour and still fit pretty good and set up for the day,
The remaining 50% is done right after a very long day of manual work, this with the dark o'clock alarm call just about kills me as the years and not slowing down for me,i burn out a lot faster and normally struggle to get through my workout..
shift work sucks, but my diet is spot on and i think this helps a lot.....

I work 3rd shift so I hit the gym on the way home from work. I used to go do cardio right after waking up on an empty stomache and my body fat melted away along with a proper diet of course.

I workout within 45 mins after waking. Basically get up have protein shake, brush, make some eggs and head out. And yes I consider protein more important than brushing wanna make somethin outta it? lol jk

i noticed that if i train too early after my nights sleep i ws never as strong as when i trained later on in the day and after some research i found that in some individuals it can take a couple of hours for your cns to wke up ad become fully efficient - i guess im one of those people , that said i nowtrain at tea time and always try to have 30 mins rst/ nap beforehand
