    ...Casein Protein ? ? ?

Just purchased some Casein Protein...(online company).

I tried it out...and the stuff is very chalky and doesn't mix well at all (sigh).

The chit also taste horrible (i got chocolate cream).

Its made by ON (optimum nutrition) or so the company says on their website.

Last time i purchased Casein...it mixed well and went down smooth (i purchased Casein was made by IronTek prior to this purchase).

Anyone else having this problem with Casein?

I dont use a whole lot of casein powder. I use whey isolate most times.
You may want to try another brand if you dont like what your using.

Then just go back to the brand you prefer. I've tried Optimum Nutritions and it doesn't mix great (kinda clumps into chunks) but lots of powders I've tried tend to clump/mix poorly, others don't. For me, I actually enjoy the "chunks of flavor" as I'm drinking, they are like "little treasures"

But seriously though, if the clumping in this brand of casein buggs you so much then just go back to the brand you state you were already happy with.

    Thanks Dudes...

Yeah...i don't like the clumps...and Like it when a powder mixes easy. I eat this chit right after my workout...so its important to mix it on the run (no blender handy).

Next time i will get my Irontek (sigh).

BTW...for those who don't know (****, etc), Casein is a much slower digesting protein. I like it better than whey...which passes right through me.

As far as blending on the run, have you tried one of those blender bottles (or something similar)

Ya but for post workout you want whey, not casein, or a blend would be even better. There a a lot of studies out showing that more muscle mass is put on with whey than casein alone post workout, A blend of whey and casein is better than casein alone also.

Now other times of the day it's different story. I use a blend PWO and for a shake later in the day but then use only casein and cottage cheese before bed for the slow digesting properties that you mentioned.

Yeah, I totally assumed he was just using the casein before bed, or when he got up to pee or something but he did say "on the run" so maybe he is using it post workout... I use whey post workout, casein for bed...

I looked on the site sponsors website for any casein in a 4 or 5lb batch but couldn't find any.
