    Check my calf workout bros

Never trained calfs before and they look horrible. Thinking of hitting them twice a week- Monday with back/deads and again on thursday when I do legs. How do you guys work them? Heavy? How many sets? I was thinking of just doing 5 sets of calf raises with the bar on my my back like im going to squat. Is that enough? I only have free weights in my basement so no machines. Help me out. Thanks guys.

If you are going to do weighted floor raises Id use dumbbells,it will be much easier to controll the weight holding it beside you rather than on your shoulders, safer also.I normally go four sets to failure.Hold each raise for 2-3 seconds to get a good burn. This exercise is about form not how fast you can do each rep.

Make sure you do standing calf raises AND seated calf raises, works different parts of the calf muscle. I will echo what therocman said, form is paramount and make sure you squeeze the shit out of them at the top.

Also turning your toes inward and outward work differently than just straight.

Aim for 12 work sets EW in a challenging rep range.
