Exercises with weights man, same way you would build any other muscle! Weighted crunches, leg lifts, cable crunches, decline sit ups with a weight etc! I do abs twice a week! 3 exercises, I do an exercise each for each part of your abs, basically a twisting movement, a crunch movement and a side bend movementOriginally Posted by devestating
In all likelihood you wont HAVE abs like that.
Everyones genetics dictate the size, shape and depth of their abs.
Just like any other muscle.
But to get your abs the best they can be...
Diet hard to get lean enough to see them clearly.
And work them hard and do heavy compound lifts in order to build them up and make them pop.
Dieting to get that lean is the hardest part in my opinion.
Also single digit body fat and maybe genetics!

hmmm....well i guess it depends where your at in your training as well. Like if your cutting for instance you'd have a better chance of seeing them compared to bulking.
Say you want to bulk up your ab's im gonna do a 5x5 for the rest of my body but would i do 5x5 for abs 2 - 3x's a week ?
I'd like an honest discussion on this
In my personal opinion a five by five abs isnt going to cut it, id do 8-15 weighted reps for most exercises. honestly though diet has a lot more to do with abs than the workout, if your not in the single digit body fat it probably dosnt matter how much ab work you do you wont see any of them except the top two. the top two can usually be seen around 14-15 body fat.
Im not huge by any means but i know for a fact that if i do enough ab exercises randomly they'll start showing pretty good, thing is if i stop or get lazy they go away faster then you can say bobs your uncle, but my core strength is still there.
Hey that's me, how'd you get a pic of my abs bro?!?! And I got those from jumping jacks and protein powder !!! LolOriginally Posted by devestating
