    bent over row/t-bar variation

I really busted some stuff up in my lower back a few years ago and its flarin up again pretty good so I need a new variation for bent over rows. I know people will say tbar rows but I want something else because I usually workout at home and without a supported tbar, I still can't do it with just the barbell on the ground. Thanks

Try dumbbell rows, they're a lot easier on your back than a barbell and you'll still get in a good workout

I use the smith machine because of my back injury/surgery. Bring the bar down to the bottom and add weight. Then squat over it and row it up like a deadlift.

If you want to do t-bar you can buy mechanisms that you slide your barbell into and it holds them. Just look on the net, and if your capable just make it yourself. I did this and just bolted it onto the side of the squat rack. Just need a bit of steel pipe, some spacers, a bolt with enough shank on it so the pipe can run smoothly on it and a lock nut.
