Hey guys. I used to be an idiot and not do deadlifts but I started them about two weeks ago and I feel great. They are apparently really good for the traps and adding size to them. The reason I never used to do deadlifts was because we don't have a free barbell, we have a smith machine at my gym, but I've found a way to do deadlifts on the smith machine so it's all good. Anyway, are there any other good trap exercises you guys like? The main ones I do/rotate each week are dumbbell shrugs, upright rows and wide grip smith machine shrugs.
Also, in relation to the trap muscle itself, does its overall size depend on how hard you hit it, or genetics? I'm a pretty big fan of having large traps which are obvious in your shirt or t-shit, showing nicely slanted traps from the back and front viewing. I've been told that it depends a lot on your height, trap insertions, length of your neck etc - especially in relation to those large slanted traps I'm after. Thanks guys.
