    Over Training???

So two questions regarding the title.

1: Telling my girl she needs to take breaks from the gym, by having days off. Some times she goes 7 days a week. I tell her the body needs rest to grow and so on. but her arguement is that even if she only doing weights 3 times a week and the rest of the week is cardio....so do u still need to have rest day in between cardio. Some of her days are intense running, on easy days its eliptical.

2: For me is shcedule couple times has changed and i like going to the gym with her when she gets off work, but also my routine is going first thing in the morning. Would it be bad/over training if i did weights in the am and came back to do cardio at night with her?

    1. I think if your GF's body needs the rest I think it would let her know. Although I would have thought even one day a week should be rest but if on one day it's easy cardio on the elliptical then I can't see it harming

    2. I think weight training in the morning and cardio on the afternoon is a great idea although the other way around would be more beneficial, in terms of fat loss I'm thinking fasted cardio. If you can train that much then go for it I I use to train twice a day years ago but that was boxing training, I was fit as a fiddle.
I think over training is a word used to often, if your muscles are still sore they still need rest

Obviously this is just an opinion I think it's one of them, it's person specific

Well as for the gf. It's 95% of the time 7 days a week. 2-3 days weight 4-5 cardio. Just some cardio days are 45 mins of running and others on elliptical. Just wasn't sure if the body still needs rest from cardio like it would from weights.

As for me. It is not so much a fat loss thing. I eat before the gym. So it's not fasted weight training. Ill be honest I slack on cardio and its the one major thing holding me back. With timing of work schedule. It's hard doing 30-40 mins weight and then another 30 for cardio in one shot.

    Edit: thanks for the reply!

I don't think you could ever do too much cardio, your muscles would give out first due to lack of oxygen and lactic acid build up. So I guess if your GF was doing too much cardio she would know about it cause she would probably pass out

Yes, i don't think you have anything to worry about as far as the cardio goes.
