    Different muscle group everyday vs 2 muscle groups a day

    Current Stats:
    29
    6'1
    250lbs
    24 to 27% BF (at that level, does it really matter lol)

    Stats 2 years ago:
    27
    6'1
    205lbs
    14% BF


    So, I've never worked out only one muscle group ed 6 days straight.... monday to saturday, with sundays off. I've always worked out 2 muscle groups a day. (Chest/Biceps, Triceps/Back, Legs/Delts) 6 days a week with one day off.

    Since I haven't worked out seriously (6 days a week) for almost 2 years... however, I have been going off and on for the last few years. I'm thinking of doing one muscle group per day 6 days a week.... just wondering what peoples experience with this style of WO vs 2 muscle groups ed.

    I started back at the gym 2 weeks ago and have been slowly working each muscle group one exercise each, every visit to the gym taking 2 to 3 days rest in between just so I don't hurt myself or get soooo sore I can't walk or move for 3 days.

    I have a lot of experience with working out and just looking for opinions/results/thoughts on one muscle group each day vs 2 muscle groups each day. In my brain I think doing chest on tuesday and not doing it again until next tuesday seems like a long time.

    Mate, if I could train 6x per week I'd be inclined to do 1 muscle per workout. You're an experience lifter so it doesn't have to be different just because you've on and off for a while.

    I train 4x and add bi's to chest and tri's to shoulders.

    If I were in your shoes I'd prob go 1 group per workout and whatever time I was saving would be jumping on some cardio afterwards to start dropping that bf down! Maybe even a 5 day split and and using the 6th day as cardio only.

    Hey brother... thanks for the input, it's much appreciated.

    I can make time for 1.5hrs every morning at 6:30am so I am gonna do one muscle group and the rest cardio.

    Any further input or experience from others would be great. My brain just has a tough time with the one muscle group ed.... although I know people who swear by it.

    I like the 1 muscle group per day and have been doing it for a couple of years. Mostly because I just dont have the time to do more, 2 a day but it has worked well for me.

    I'm going to try to make it work so I can work out 2x a day soon though and see how that goes.

    I've been doin one muscle group for a couple of months and have noticed a increase in strength....not sure if its from havin more emphasis on that particular group or havin more time for that group to rest and heal....probably a little bit if both
