    Anavar only first cycle - 20 y.o.

    I'm 20 years old, I've been lifting for about 4 years now.


    2009 - 115 lb., 10-11% bf.

    Current - 5'8", 150 lb., 9% bf.

    I was looking to do my first cycle and after doing a bit of research I think an anavar only first cycle is a good idea. Money isn't an issue so don't tell me I might as well do test for first cycle. My main reasons for picking anavar over test is that I am prone to acne as well as baldness which I want to avoid and anavar is supposedly mild for those side-effects because it isn't as androgenic. Also, I have read the amount of muscle anavar will put on and I know it doesn't compare at all to test but for me even 6-7 pounds of muscle in 6-8 weeks is good enough especially since I can keep most of those gains with correct PCT and nutrition. So please keep in mind my goals before trying to turn me away from the anavar only cycle.

    Also, being 20 years old, I realize my endocrine system is still developing and I think anavar, being a mild steroid, is a good choice. Anyways, here's what I plan to do:

    Anavar 50mg ED Weeks 1-8
    Tribulus 7g ED Weeks 1-12
    Clomid 50mg ED Weeks 9-11

    I also plan to take milk thistle throughout the process. Any advice? Anything I should change? Reasons I should/shouldn't do this?

    P.S.: Incase you missed it: My goal for this first cycle is to put on 6-8 pounds of lean muscle while minimizing fat gain.

    There isn't an exact age were we all stop developing and growing because this is determined by our genes and DNA, we are all genetically programmed individually and we inherit our genes from our parents. To give an exact age we stop growing would be incorrect because everyone's genetic blueprint is different.The main development of our bodies is up to the age of 21yrs of age but this can vary between individuals. There are parts of our bodies what carry on developing and adjusting slowly up until the age of 25yrs old, an example of this is the brain. The Endocrine system is a part of the brain what is very complex and keeps our bodies in a homeostasis state. Our testosterone levels start raising and roughly peak around 25yrs old and then start to slowly decline, so even though some of us may have stopped growing at the age of 21yrs old, others may still be developing up until the age of 25yrs old.

    I have recently spoken to my Endo regarding this matter and he tells me that the HPTA is very sensitive and as many pathways how it regulates the human body, he states steroids disrupt the normal balance of hormones in the body which can cause reversible and irreversible changes at any age but risks are far more if you administrate exogenous androgens during development, this will put you in a very unnatural environment at a crucial time and your hormones should be treated with care especially in the early stages of maturity. The adverse effects can be erratic behaviour of the HPTA and potentially therapy when your older.

    I did ask him what age he would think would be the safest as far as risk to damages and he said many endocrinologist suggest full maturation is reached by 25 years of age and this would also give the HPTA time to be established with your natural hormone balance and patterns. I personally feel 24-25yrs old would also be ideal starting point to get bloodwrok drawn to see exact what your natural levels are before starting any kind of cycles and waiting till you have reach your testosterone peak would be a good starting point, for me there is to much evidence over the forums and what I've seen personally over the last 25yrs I've been bodybuilding. Obviously it isn't going to be all 19- 21yr old bodybuilders who suffer side effects what are irreversible but I am edging on the side of caution what age I advice to the newbies.

    For what you will get out of a var cycle your wasting your time and risking to much IMHO, you can gain the same by just switching your diet and training around at your age.

    Hmm, what risks are we talking here? I know anavar is pretty low-risk and test levels bounce back within a month of PCT. Also, I hear a 6-8 week cycle isn't too bad on the liver especially while taking milk thistle? Am I wrong here? Any other risks I'm missing?

    I've seen threads like that but in 95% of the posts I've seen about it people experience a small decrease in libido and their test levels are back within a few weeks of PCT. Am I wrong here?

    At 20 years old even anavar is like playing Russian roulette, is it really worth taking the chance for 5 lbs. just up your calories and it will do the same thing.

    Upping my calories will definitely not do the same thing.. If I were to gain 6-8 pounds in 2 months, a large portion of that would be fat. I was looking to put on 6-8 pounds of lean tissue. Honestly, can you point out some real risks other than libido decrease?

    You seem to be a know it all, but that's cool kid. The risks are all the same. Do more reading. You mention that things bounce back USUALLY in a month. OK well the n that for the lucky ones. As was said the risks are Russian roulette. Want to play that game..it is serious.
    Now let me inform you. Lean muscle mass, holy sh!t 6-8 lbs. of lean muscle mass takes much longer then 2 months no matter what you take. Drain the water and the fatty tissue and 6-8 lbs. of lean mass is a sh!t load. It is not worth the risks and you will not accomplish much with your proposal at any age. ...crazy mike

    lol, I specifically said I don't know much about the topic. From other posts and logs, 6-8 pounds of lean muscle gain is common on someone's first cycle being only anavar.

    1. At your age there are serious risks as you say you are aware.
    2. What you are doing is playing roulette and that's not a joke. If you have problems then what. All for some small gain that you can do naturally without the risk, but you are impatient and want to show off something quickly because in long scheme of thing doesn't matter. You have a life time ahead. I'm 62 yrs. old.
    3. You are wrong about the muscle mass gain being common. It will not be lean muscle mass there is just No Way to build that much muscle mass in that time. It will not be all muscle mass. Been there done that.
    4. Your body doesn't know how to react and you don't know how to react in conjunction with diet and training and rest while on a steroid therefore your first cycle should be test.
    5. Did you read the young and steroids? If so do you think you are special and it won't happen to you. Your plan is not a good plan. ....crazy mike

    Dude dont mess with this stuff yet. If your natty test levels are good then don't risk it. Risking being on trt for the rest of your life for 6-8 pounds of muscle is stupid

    I have put on 35-40 pounds of muscles in the last 4 years of natural lifting and my gains have slowed to almost a halt. I'm not impatient, I am just coming close to my natural potential.

    I would run test but aren't the sides for that much much more severe? What would be your take on running tbol instead of var then?

    If you feel like both tbol and var are out of the question, I guess I'll keep it natural for a few more years.

    Not to burst your bubble son but you are not putting on 10 lbs of muscle a year for the last 4 years. Not humanly possible. You have muscle fat and water bud.

    ^^^^ This ^^^ what Cape said is so right on. You haven't gotten close to your natural potential at age 20. That will start at age 25 or 26. AND I said will start. Ask people's age and look at their hardness and you will see harder bodies after the age of 25 whether they started lifting at 18 or 22. The hard look starts to become real, and hard looking with solid mass after one's maturity and that usually is after age 25. Just look around. ...crazy mike

    Of course I haven't put on 10 pounds a year. I bulked for 16 months when I first started and put on about 50-60 pounds. After cutting down to the same bf% as when I started I was still 25 pounds heavier. For the next 3 years I have gone theough 2 bulking/cutting phases and put on about 15 pounds. (9 pounds muscle for the first bulk then 5-6 pounds for this last one). Obviously my gains have drastically slowed. That first bulk was crazy though.

    That's called puberty, and growing up, son. You were a 16 year old kid when you started...

    Trust us, you've got plenty of genetic potential left. It'll just take a bit more work, now that your growth spurt has slowed.

    If your mind is made up, then we are wasting our time. It seems you have all the answers. The facts are...get this, the facts are no one can gain 6-8 lean muscle mass on the time and cycle you proposed. That's it. Good luck and I hope you are the lucky one who bounces back time and time again. I do know this if this is your first at your age, you will do one after another for years to come trying to get there and THEN you will be in deep sh!t with your penis in hand.
